Marina Christmas Concert

12-14-12:  Friday night was the Marina's Christmas concert to benefit the less fortunate children of La Paz.  All were asked to bring toys, so we did.  Why does 'buying' support that holiday feeling?  It did for me anyway!  It was a lovely night of classical holiday tunes, Mexican tasting treats and the breaking of a big beautiful Christmas pinata.

During each turn at the pinata, they sing a song and at the end of the song count to three.  No hits after three.  All the children seemed to know this and obeyed it religiously!  After all the kiddos had a couple of trys with no luck breaking open the pinata, the Papas had a try.  They have a man on the roof at one end of the pinata pulling at it so it's a little harder to hit and when one of the papas got up to hit it, the guy on the roof pulled up the pinata really high and the papa totally missed it loosing his balance and the pinata stick!  OMG!  It was hilarious.  Still laughing when I think of it.  None of the papas could break it open either so they all just tore it apart.  Lovely evening.
