Pre-sailing Projects

Today - day two for bottom paint; this time green.  We save a lot of dinero doing it ourselves.  Both of us doing it cut down on the time it took to do it and good thing, 25 knot winds whipped up at around 1.  If you remember last year that just seems to be the way it is down here, very calm in morning and early afternoon the winds pick up.  Tomorrow winds are supposed to be higher.

Ed also started work on his new satellite text messenger antenna.  On his way to Hawaii...oh yea, did I mention he is solo sailing to Hawaii?  During which he'll be able to send text via satellite.  He should be able to transmit data via his ham radio-but never hurts to have a back-up.  I haven't mention Mao yet, but as you can see, she's back in the groove.

Last night we went to the Captains Club.  Place was hopping.  Outside the really bad band played loud and proud, inside Kentucky beat Wisconsin.  Food was not worth recommending, but the margaritas spanked and it didn't hurt until later. Being in the workyard and about the only ones actually staying on our boat, we get the internet in full force in the evenings.  Able to catch up on shows Netflix doesn't offer in the states such as our current favorite 'Justified'.  The sun goes down early - 6:30p.  Forecast is for high 80s over the next several days.  No new wildlife sitings. Without being able to use the sink for clean-up, the grub is the basics - rice, salsa, tortillas, fresh quac and chips.

  1. WOW, sounds like a lot of hard, hot work. Are you using anti-fouling paint? Surprised you have energy to kick up your heals in the evening (you party animals). When are you planning to do the solo?
