Rounded Caspe Medecino

Rounded Cape Medecino a few minutes ago. Sunny skies, 1-2 foot wind waves and 4-5 foot long period swell. Thor is steering the boat, pretty much dead down wind. Flying the jib and staysail wing and wing. Making about 4 knots. Toasted the sea with a shot of rum for giving up such good weather around the cape.

  2. E.D.!!!!!!

I was sorry to hear about your mom, Tracey caught me up on things. So glad she's doing somewhat better and ready to be home. I caught Tracey up on things too which I'm sure she'll catch you up on.

School started and I work 10 hour days on Mon & Wed. Then if I don't see mom on Sun, I drive after school to see her on Tue. Fri's are football and Sat is cross country. It's been awhile since I've read your blog, but you are really making it down the coast faster than I expected.

Maybe because there's more ports???? You also seem to be in closer to the coast. ???? Is it because further north you had to avoid a rocky terrain? Seems like Tracey mentioned it.

Either way, it seems like the water is smoother for you.??? It would figure. Tracey probably could have handled the calmer waters, even though you seem to have sparatic swells.

I love that you are able to post the pictures. Earlier I shared them with the class. I can't wait to show them the whale pics (and pelicans). They seem to enjoy seeing the "green" dots on the map and find it interesting if we use the sattellite image to watch you. Which really is cool because they can kind of see the depth differences in the ocean.

What I really want to know is if you told any jokes on the radio talking to your maritime friends? :P

So I got one for you:

An old sea captain was sitting on a bench near the wharf when a young man walked up and sat down. The young man had spiked hair and each spike was a different color.... green, red, orange, blue, and yellow.

After a while the young man noticed that the captain was staring at him.

"What's the matter old timer, never done anything wild in your life?

The old captain replied, "Got drunk once and married a parrot. I was just wondering if you were my son!"

Now that was funny right there!!!

Safe sailing . . . keep up the posts. Things should be settled now and I will send you some more jokes! hahaha

    Love you - stay safe.
