Got my first taste of a little squall this afternoon. Could see it coming up behind and then winds ballooned from about 12 to 20 and heavy rain. Got the sail reefed down ok so no problem, but for some reason forgot about rain gear and got soaked. Oh well, should all dry out tomorrow. Doesn't look like any joy for viewing the meteor shower as it's still pretty cloudy.
Light winds this afternoon are slowing us down and we were making such good progress. Perhaps improvement tomorrow.
Stepped on something squishy while adjusting the sails during the rain, looked down and had a squid between my toes, yuch ! Most have jumped on last night.
